M. Owen revealed that he could have never joined the "Red Devils" team, because Sir Alex Ferguson had told him that he would sign him only if they failed to reach an agreement with Karim Benzema. And that's what happened - the Frenchman chose Real Madrid.
"I have to thank Karim Benzema, because without him I would never have ended up at the "Man Utd" club," said M. Owen on "Canal +" show. - Ferguson told me that he would sign a contract with me only if he couldn't get Benzema. And that's exactly what happened."
