M. Owen: Next year "Leicester City" could even drop out of the "Premier" League

Speaking on the English TV show Fletch And Sav, Michael Owen did not rule out the possibility that next season Leicester City could drop out of the Premier League.

The former Liverpool and Manchester United star also emphasized that players this summer would rather choose his former teams than be tempted to join the Foxes.

"Everyone would rather choose Manchester United and Liverpool even if they are not playing in the Champions League, while Leicester City is there. The Leicester team could even drop out of the Premier League next season. This year they could become champions, and next year still fight to remain in the top league. Everything will depend on the path they choose. They could take a risk and invest all the money from the Champions League to try to become one of the strongest teams in England for years to come. However, we should not rule out the possibility that they will spend all the money and sell their best players, like Mahrez. In that case, their team will not even come close to the squads of Liverpool and Manchester United," said Owen.

However, the Englishman revealed that he supports Leicester City this season.

"This season they are playing incredibly well and I sincerely hope that they will become the winners of the Premier League," admitted the former England striker.

The high-performing Leicester City team is currently leading the Premier League and is ahead of their closest competitors by five points. Leicester's closest match will be against London's Arsenal footballers on Sunday.
