Over the past few months, Mesut Ozil, who has been struggling to find his game, denies reports that he will only stay with London's Arsenal club if the team continues to be led by Arsene Wenger.
The 28-year-old midfielder has previously revealed that the main reason for his arrival at Arsenal was Wenger, so he wants to work in the Gunners' ranks only with the Frenchman.
Knowing Wenger's career, it would be hard to imagine the manager leaving Arsenal so easily, but after very poor results this season, it is expected that the Frenchman's career at the North London club will finally come to an end.
Ozil is also linked to a departure, but in his latest interview, the German revealed that negotiations for a new contract are still open, and Wenger is not a decisive factor in the negotiations.
"Everything is open," - Ozil responded when asked about the negotiations for a new contract. "Right now, I'm just focused on this season."
"Everyone knows that Wenger was one of the reasons why I came to Arsenal. But I know very well how quickly things change in football and you cannot plan for such things.
Therefore, it would be unfair to say that my future at this club depends only on the coach," - the German national team midfielder announced to Arsenal fans.
