For London's Arsenal supporters - bad news. The team's star Mesut Ozil did not travel to Liverpool due to the flu, where the "Gunners" will play against the local team in the evening. This information is shared by the football news portal Goal.com.
The German was sent home by the club doctor on Wednesday, but at a press conference, coach Arsene Wenger hinted that Ozil could still appear on the field.
However, Ozil was advised to miss the clash with Liverpool in order to be ready for the upcoming UEFA Champions League quarter-final match against Bayern Munich.
The 28-year-old footballer has scored nine goals and provided eight assists in 29 games this season.
If Arsenal were to achieve victory today, they would reduce the gap from the Premier League leader Chelsea to ten points and temporarily rise to second place.
