For a long time, the topic of the new coach of the English vice-champions "Manchester City" has been discussed in the world football media pages, it seems that it will soon come to an end. The current coach of "Malaga" club, Manuel Pellegrini, confirmed a verbal agreement with the English team.
"I have a verbal agreement with the team and hope that this matter will be resolved soon," said the 59-year-old "Malaga" coach to the television channel "Canal Sur".
The Chilean-born football specialist has long been linked to the "Manchester City" club, from which the Italian Roberto Mancini was fired from the coaching position after the season. Just recently, M. Pellegrini officially announced that he would not stay with the Malaga team after the season.
"Today we have not yet signed a contract. The truth is that the managers of "Manchester City" have shown a great interest in me and we have been discussing the terms for some time. However, until the signatures on the contract are not there, it cannot be said that everything is already done," said M. Pellegrini.
Goal.com says that the arrival of the Chilean should help convince the striker Carlos Tevez, who wants to leave the English team, to change his mind. The leaders of "Manchester City" also hope that M. Pellegrini will help attract the young star of "Malaga," Isco, to the team.
For the Andalusian club, there are only five matches left in the Spanish league – on Saturday, they will play away against "Barcelona."
