M. Pellegrini: We Showed More Desire to Win than "Real"

"Manchester City" club manager Manuel Pellegrini after a draw in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinals said that he did not expect a better result from his team.

Yesterday, at the "Etihad" stadium, "Man City" played in the Champions League semifinals for the first time in the club's history. Having more experience in this tournament than any other team, the Madrid "Real" team failed to beat the "city" team at home and the match ended with a 0-0 result.

M. Pellegrini believes that his team showed more desire to win, but they lacked creativity, especially after losing David Silva to injury.

"I did not expect more from my team," the coach told journalists. "We showed the highest pressure, but lacked creativity in attack."

"Both us and Madrid lacked creativity. However, I think we had a better attitude and showed more desire to win than Real.

"I am confident that at the 'Santiago Bernabeu' stadium we can achieve a good result and reach the final," concluded M. Pellegrini, whose team’s decisive match in Madrid awaits them next Wednesday.
