Former UEFA president Michael Platini, temporarily removed from office, claims he is in solidarity with FIFA president Sepp Blatter because he trusts him.
Last week, the FIFA Ethics Committee temporarily suspended M. Platini from his duties. It is believed that S. Blatter transferred 2 million Swiss francs to the UEFA president for corrupt purposes.
"He became FIFA president, so I trust him," said M. Platini, who was named world's best football player three times in the past. "I have been on several trips with Blatter. In short, I really worked and many people can testify to that."
M. Platini also commented on the current situation: "I have been suspended for three months, but what bothers me the most is that I am being considered a huge disgrace. It's shameful, as mud is being thrown at me."
