On Thursday, in a friendly match, "Manchester United" beat London's "Tottenham" 2:1, although the match did not really resemble a pre-season encounter.
From the very first minutes of the match, there was a real battle on the field, and the referee had to calm down the heated passions.
A particularly unpleasant incident occurred in the first half, when "Tottenham" midfielder Moussa Sissoko accidentally stepped on the chest of "Man Utd" newcomer Daniel James with his football boot, but avoided a harsher punishment.
This was not the only rough episode involving the London team in the match, and after the game, the team's coach Mauricio Pochettino expressed regret for their behavior.
"I was frustrated by a few moments that really did not make me happy. It was a friendly match, but due to fatigue and the intense heat, we could not maintain the proper pace, so we were late in some duels, and bad things can happen in such moments.
I apologize to the "Manchester United" team for the behavior of my players. My players did not intend to play like that, but as I said, sometimes fatigue leads to such things.
I was concerned because at this stage of the season, sometimes you need to show aggression and passion, but sometimes you just need to improve your physical fitness," said M. Pochettino after the match.
