"Tottenham" coach Mauricio Pochettino criticized match referee Mike Dean on Saturday after losing to "Burnley".
The Football Association (FA) fined the Argentinean, which he can appeal until February 28. However, during a press conference, M. Pochettino admitted that he should apologize to the match official and accept the fine imposed on him.
"I will accept the fine imposed on me. I reviewed my actions on television and I believe I must agree with it and apologize to Mike Dean.
I cannot afford to behave like that. My behavior was public, so I want to publicly apologize. I must apologize to Dean and all referees", said the "Spurs" coach during the press conference.
M. Dean was appointed as the fourth official in the Wednesday match between "Chelsea" and "Tottenham", but due to the incident with M. Pochettino, he was moved to another game.
"Tottenham" coach regrets such a decision and hoped to apologize to M. Dean on Wednesday.
"It's a shame he won't be at Stamford Bridge. I wanted to see him tomorrow and apologize. I still believe I am right, but I behaved inappropriately.
In my opinion, he is one of the best referees", praised M. Pochettino M. Dean.
