M. Pochettino: "Improving your game requires not only Kane, but the whole team"

Mauricio Pochettino-led London's Tottenham starts today their journey towards the UEFA Champions League title.

The Spurs will not have an easy path to the quarterfinals - they will have to compete in their group with Inter, Barcelona, and PSV. Tonight, Spurs will host the challenge of Milan's Inter team.

In the Premier League, Tottenham is not currently experiencing the best of times. Harry Kane also receives quite a bit of criticism as he cannot boast his usual goal-scoring numbers.

"It's easy to criticize Kane when he doesn't score. Harry has been in the club for four years now and I think many of you would like to thank him for what he has achieved so far," said M. Pochettino at a press conference.

"He needs to improve his game, but the same goes for our entire team. Of course, it's easiest to blame him because he's always the main target," continued the manager.

Asked about their chances in the Champions League tournament, M. Pochettino did not hesitate: "I don't think we are realistic contenders to win any tournament. That's my personal opinion.

If we show the character and the game with which we defeated United at Old Trafford, then maybe we can expect something positive."
