M. Pochettino: Kane doesn't need titles to prove he is the best

London's "Tottenham" sniper Mauricio Pochettino believes that this team's forward Harry Kane does not need to play for one of the major clubs to become a world-class footballer.

On Wednesday, the Englishman scored a brace in the UEFA Champions League match against Dortmund's "Borussia", and the "Spurs" won 3-1, making a serious statement for a successful season in Europe.

The 24-year-old player said in June that he wants to compete with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, but according to his coach, he can do it without club trophies.

"I have no doubts that Harry Kane is one of the best snipers. In my opinion, he doesn't need titles to prove he's one of the best," Pochettino said.

"It's true that players try to score, win, perform well and ultimately win titles. Everyone has this goal."

"We work very hard to first establish our philosophy and desired playing style."

"Then we try to win, because the main goal is always to try to win matches and win titles. That is our ambition."

Last season, Kane became the top scorer in the Premier League.
