Mauricio Pochettino surprised the football community at a press conference by stating that his protege Moussa Dembele is on the same level of talent as Diego Maradona and Ronaldinho.
The 30-year-old midfielder from Belgium is currently in great form at London's Tottenham. His solid performance in the midfield has contributed to the team's recent good results.
Pochettino is so pleased with his protege's form that he even dared to describe him as one of the most talented footballers on the planet.
"I can talk about Dembele because I've been working with him for many years" - said Pochettino. - "I have to tell you, he is a football genius."
"He is one of those players that I consider alongside Ronaldinho, Maradona, and Okocha, with whom I had the opportunity to play together. In my opinion, Moussa is one of the greatest talents in football history.
It's hard for him to always be in top form because he has physical problems. But now he is in an incredible stage of the season and deserves all the praise people give him," added the coach.
Dembele, who joined Tottenham in 2012, has played a total of 225 matches for the club and scored 10 goals.
