Although the English Premier League season only kicked off last weekend, football fans are already looking forward to a match between one of the championship favorites - "Manchester City" hosting "Tottenham" at home on Saturday.
"Spurs" spent much of last season in contention for the Premier League trophy, only losing in the Champions League final.
Before Saturday's match, "Tottenham" manager Mauricio Pochettino stated that another season without titles would be unsuccessful for him personally, but that doesn't mean it would be the same for the club.
"Of course, my priority has always been to win trophies, but it was also very important to help the club rise to the top. Still, this doesn't change my desire to win both individual matches and titles.
Few days ago, I was asked about my goals for the upcoming season. My personal goal is to win trophies, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's obligatory.
For me personally, the season will be unsuccessful if we don't win any trophies, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will be a failed season for the club," Pochettino told Sky Sports.
The Argentinean admitted that although the team will seek victory in the match against "Man City", more important to him will be the performance of his players.
"For now, our own game is the most important. We can't think that this match will determine our season. Of course, we want to fight for victory, but our displayed game is equally important. We will aim for victory, but at the same time show a better game, because the most important thing is to be competitive at the end of the season.
It's obvious that we are slightly behind teams like "Liverpool" and "Man City", which are very solid and have already proven that they can compete for the most important trophies. We are taking a slightly different path and trying to be competitive," added the "Spurs" manager.
