M. Pochettino: "Tottenham" can fight for the Premier League title

After a victory against "Watford" in London, "Tottenham" coach Mauricio Pochettino said he believes in his players' ability to become champions of the English league.

"Spurs" took three points from the "Vicarage Road" stadium only after a late goal by Heung-Min Son, who came on as a substitute. On the other hand, after three consecutive wins, the capital club temporarily rose to third place.

However, the coach thinks that the team should not dream too much and the players must work as hard as they did at the beginning of the season.

"I think the statistics reflect perfectly that fighting for the title is always possible," Pochettino told Sky Sports. "Nevertheless, the most important for us is to work hard, as we are very young."

"We have to play well throughout the season, and even if we start talking about the title, hard work and performances like today are the most important."

"This is a fantastic victory because just a few weeks ago 'Liverpool' struggled here, losing 3-0. We were unlucky to concede the first goal. It happened due to the poor condition of the stadium pitch."

"It's very important to stay grounded. Our players are very smart and can learn a lot about football. Now the key thing is to behave exactly as we did in the first few months when the league season started."

The main key to yesterday's victory was the unusual players' lineup in 3-4-3 formation. This was the first time Pochettino fielded only three defenders. According to the strategist, the "Spurs" analyzed the opponent's game and they couldn't play their usual style based on long passes against this formation.
