M. Pochettino: "Trophies only create your ego"

London's "Tottenham" strategist Mauricio Pochettino does not believe that the team's level should be judged by won trophies.

On Sunday, in the FA Cup, they suffered a painful blow - "Crystal Palace" knocked them out of the race for the title. "Tottenham" recently ended their run in the League Cup as well, so their chances of winning trophies this season are slim.

"It seems that we will once again have a discussion about whether winning trophies elevates you to another level," Pochettino said after the loss. "I disagree with that. It only inflates your ego. Right now, the most important thing for Tottenham is to stay in the top four."

"It is true that this season has been quite challenging for us. I said before the season that we are facing a huge challenge, but I did not expect the season to be as difficult as it is now.

Everyone understands how disappointed we are when we drop out of two tournaments in a week. It's very painful. However, we must remain positive because we are still fighting in two tournaments.

Our position in the Premier League and the Champions League is still not bad, so the club feels a huge motivation," added the specialist.

"Tottenham" currently holds the third position in the Premier League and will face "Borussia" in the Champions League quarter-finals.
