Mauricio Pochettino after a painful defeat to Leicester City talked about the impact the VAR system is currently having on football.
In yesterday's match, London's Tottenham led 1-0 for a long part of the game against Leicester. In the 67th minute, Spurs scored a second goal, which seemed to be decisive in the match.
However, moments later, Serge Aurier's goal was disallowed as VAR detected an offside by Heung-Min Son. The Spurs team could have had a two-goal advantage, but minutes later they conceded the first goal and eventually also the second by the end of the game.
"I think after the second goal, Leicester would have just died," said M. Pochettino. "Both teams were affected by that situation. If the goal had been allowed, I think the opponents wouldn't have found a way back."
"But that's football. It's true that two missed goals greatly hinder your chances of winning. I think we were a much better team before the 'offside' goals."
"Even after the equalizing goal, we had chances to regain the advantage. But this is the Premier League - the most beautiful league in the world, where the fight is not over until the final whistle," added M. Pochettino.
