M. Pochettino: "We would have reached the final in any other country"

It seems that London's "Tottenham" team will have to postpone the fight for the trophy until next season - the "Spurs" were eliminated from the English Cup semi-finals.

"Tottenham" gained an advantage in the first match, but "Chelsea" equalized the series result in the return leg and eventually reached the final after a penalty shootout, where they will face "Manchester City."

Mauricio Pochettino could not accept the fact that the away goal rule does not apply in England.

"In the Spanish King's Cup or any other European tournament, you move on to the next stage if you score more away goals... I think that's fair.

They changed the rules and now we are leaving the tournament after a penalty shootout. Still, I am proud of my players, I told them that immediately after the match.

We have fantastic players and a great team. It was a good performance by the whole team, the way we played. I can only congratulate the players on such a match," Pochettino said.

Talking about injured players, Pochettino added that the World Cup had the most impact, which disrupted the preparation for the season.

"When you look at the preparation for the season, you see that we were the team most affected by the World Cup. The schedule is crazy. We knew that after the World Cup, we would face a huge challenge.

However, I think we are managing the situation quite well. Today we are disappointed with the result, but we have come a really tough road - "Watford", "West Ham", "Arsenal" and now a 2:2 draw with "Chelsea". I can only be proud of the work the team has done," the coach concluded.
