M. Raiola withdraws from FIFA presidential elections

Just last week, the controversial agent Mino Raiola, who announced his intention to run for the FIFA presidency, had a change of heart. The Dutchman withdrew his candidacy and expressed support for the president of the Netherlands Football Association, Michael van Praag.

Representing players such as Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimović, and Mario Balotelli, Raiola stated that significant changes are necessary in the leadership of football organizations. Additionally, the agent strongly criticized current FIFA president Sepp Blatter.

However, Raiola now says that Van Praag is a more suitable candidate than himself.

"I wanted to participate in the fight for the presidency not for myself, but for the sake of having a candidate who can challenge Blatter. Now we have that," the agent told NOS.

"Van Praag has more connections, more patience. Also, he is better at remaining himself when dealing with politics."

"I am happy to step aside for someone like him."
