Dortmund's "Borussia" leader and captain Marco Reus reassured the club's fans that he could not follow the example of his former colleagues and go to Munich to play for "Bayern."
The 29-year-old footballer has emerged from a series of injuries and is demonstrating excellent form this season. In 24 games, he has already scored 14 goals and made nine assists.
Reus admitted that he is unlikely to receive an offer from the German champions.
"You won't see me playing for Bayern, I can promise that," the German told the "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung."
"I am almost 30 years old, and they want to rejuvenate the squad," Reus added as one of the reasons why Bayern would not offer him a contract.
The BVB team is not only performing well in the country's championships this season but also holds a leading position. Reus understands that there is still a long way to go before the title.
"Everything is in our hands. We have to treat each game as if it were the first of the season. Then maybe we'll have a chance to become champions," added the forward.
Reus has been playing in Dortmund since 2012. During that time, the German has played 228 games and won three titles.
