The "” club, currently occupying 15th place in the Premier League, may have to do without one of their main defenders, Micah Richardson, for the rest of the season.
The footballer suffered a thigh injury while playing for the England national team in the European Championship qualifiers against Andorra (3-0) on Wednesday. It is believed that he will need surgery.
"Micah's injury saddened and worried us. However, both he and the club should be honored that he suffered the injury while representing his country," said Man City coach Stuart Pearce.
Nevertheless, the coach admitted that the defender had been having leg problems earlier: "It's been a lingering leg problem for several months. Previously, Micah had hamstring issues."
The 18-year-old right-back joined Man City in 2005 from the "Oldham Athletic" team. In two seasons, he became a key player in the starting lineup and broke into the England national team.
