Maurizio Sarri had to once again come to terms with a painful failure for the London-based team he coaches, Chelsea, as the "Blues" suffered humiliation last weekend and were eliminated from the FA Cup on Monday.
Chelsea's players, in front of their own fans, lost 0-2 to Manchester United, who advanced to the next round of the cup.
The frustration with the coach's work has already been expressed by Chelsea fans, who condemned the Italian football with uncensored shouts. Speaking to journalists after the match, M. Sarri somewhat arrogantly stated that he does not care about the fans' reaction; his focus is solely on improving results.
"I am only concerned about my team's results, not the fans. I fully understand their situation because our results are not good. We were eliminated from the FA Cup, so their reaction is understandable. However, the only thing I should be concerned about at the moment is our results," said M. Sarri.
The Blues fans chanted "fuck Sarri-ball." When asked if he had faced a similar reaction from fans before, the Italian replied, "No, this is the first time."
Speaking about his future and possible dismissal, M. Sarri added, "I was concerned about my future when I was working in the second division in Italy. Now I don't feel any fear.
"I don't think about whether I will be accepted by the management. The only thing that matters to me now is preparing for tomorrow's training session and continuing to improve with the players, find more determination and aggression. We lacked all of that when we conceded the second goal."
Chelsea's team will face Malmo at Stamford Bridge stadium in the Europa League match this Thursday.
