M. Sarri: "We not only want to play in the final, but also win it"

This season, having already lost one final, London's "Chelsea" is determined to fight in another.

In the first leg of the UEFA Europa League semi-final, London's "Chelsea" drew 1-1 with Frankfurt's "Eintracht". The second leg will take place in London, so the "blues" will need a goalless draw.

After the match, Maurzio Sarri said that reaching the final will require a lot of effort.

"I want to reach the final regardless of who we play against," said M. Sarri. "My goal is not just to be in the final, we want to win it."

“Just three months ago, we were in a very difficult situation when we faced problems in a very tough championship. I am happy that we were able to react to it. Now, with 15 days left in the season, we are fighting for a spot in the final and the top four,” continued the strategist.

Talking about the match itself, M. Sarri said: "We didn't play well in the first 20 minutes. Looking from the outside, it seemed like the team came here for a draw.

Later, we started to play and did so until the 85th minute. I think with the chances we created, we should have won this match. For about 70 minutes we controlled the game and really should have achieved a better result. However, we played against a team that counterattacks excellently and is ready to punish you every time they find space."
