After his team came within a point of qualifying for the next stage, "Olympiacos" team coach Marco Silva stated that he is not afraid of the "Bayern" team.
The Greek team was close to a painful defeat against Zagreb's "Dinamo", with Silva allowing Felipe Pardo to enter the game, who scored two goals and secured a 2-1 victory for the team. Now "Olympiacos" has 9 points - the same as the "Bayern" club.
Both teams will face each other in Germany on November 24th and the Portuguese coach believes in his team, despite losing the first match at home 0-3.
"I'm not afraid of either Guardiola or the 'Bayern' club. However, I must admit that we will be playing against one of the best, or even the strongest team in the world. We will take risks. Yes, a tough night awaits us, but we will go with faith and dedication. We will not feel fear," Silva said about the upcoming match against "Bayern".
Pardo's double saved the Greeks and relieved a huge responsibility from Kostas Fortounis, who missed an 11-meter penalty. Silva explained his decision to bring in Pardo on the field:
"The team needed reinforcement after the missed penalty, as we lost our way a bit. I showed the team that nothing is over and the players must continue to fight and achieve the desired result. Pardo helped a lot in that regard. We changed the course of the match and fought for the victory, which shows that a great performance by one player can change the game," Silva said.
With two rounds left in the group stage of the Champions League, in Group F, "Bayern" and "Olympiakos" have nine points each, while "Arsenal" and "Dinamo" have three points each.
