"Barcelona" team wanted to extend the contract with goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, but negotiations hit a deadlock. The website "Goal" reported that the 27-year-old German would like to receive the second largest salary in the Catalan team and only be behind the leader Lionel Messi. According to the press, the player demands about 15 million euros of annual salary. Although "Barcelona" does not doubt the player's skills, they do not want to violate UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules and will not offer such money. Ter Stegen's current contract with the team is valid until the summer of 2022.
