Marijampolė's "Sūduva" awaits a very important match on Thursday - Lithuanian champions have the opportunity to advance to the final stage of the UEFA Europa League qualifiers.
The renowned Tel Aviv "Maccabi" club is coming to Lithuania. "Sūduva" proved in the first match that they can compete even with such an opponent - the Israeli team was defeated 2:1.
Prior to the match, "Maccabi" coach Vladimir Ivić said that he still believes in his team's chances to advance, although he understands the strength of the opponents.
"Sūduva" did not surprise us because we saw how and what system they played in this qualifier. They are a tough, dominant team that is highly organized. Up front, they have players who fight well for the ball and play well with it," V. Ivić briefly mentioned the Lithuanian champions.
"The match in Tel Aviv was just the first half that we lost. Today we will play the second half, where we have to be much better than in the first match. However, we are here with the goal of winning and advancing to the next stage.
I believe in my team. In the past, we have had similar scenarios that ultimately ended successfully," added the coach from Serbia.
