Madrid's "Real" wants to acquire K. Strootman

In Italy, the newspaper "Gazzetta dello Sport" reports that Madrid's "Real" is getting involved in the battle for the acquisition of "Roma" defender Kevin Strootman.

The 24-year-old footballer was linked with a move to "Manchester United" in the summer, but the Italian vice-champions did not enter negotiations.

"Real" added two defenders in the summer but as many left the team. Carlo Ancelotti, having lost Xabi Alonso, wants to see K. Strootman in his place, as he is not satisfied with Asier Illarramendi's athletic form.

The UEFA Champions League winners will try to acquire the Dutchman as early as this January. In 2013, "Roma" paid 17 million euros for the defender.
