On Friday, the ninth round of the Bundesliga championship started.
In the only evening match, the "Mainz" team won with a score of 3:1 against the "Koln" footballers at home.
The guests had a better start to the game and took the lead after the 14th minute goal by Simon Terodde, but "Mainz" equalized the score in the 21st minute when Jean-Paul Boetius scored.
The hosts proved their advantage in the second half: Robin Quaison overturned the score in the 57th minute, and Levin Oztunali secured the victory for "Mainz" in the 82nd minute.
After this victory, "Mainz" climbed to 13th place in the tournament table.
