The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rejected the appeal of Malaga club regarding participation in the next season of the Europa League tournament.

Last December, UEFA decided to ban the Malaga team from participating in European football tournaments for the next two years due to financial violations.

"CAS rejected Malaga's appeal of the decision made on December 21, 2012. As a result, the Spanish club will not participate in the UEFA Europa League during the 2013/2014 season and will have to pay a fine of 300 thousand euros," CAS reports.

The place in the Europa League tournament will go to the Sevilla team, which finished in 9th place in the "Primera" tournament. The Rayo Vallecano club, which finished in 8th place, did not receive a UEFA license.
