M.Allegri: "I am glad with A.Vidal's decision to stay at Juventus"

During a friendly match press conference yesterday, the new Juventus strategist Massimiliano Allegri silenced talks about the sale of Turin team star Arturo Vidal to "Cesena."

"I am pleased with Arturo Vidal's decision to stay in Turin. He is motivated and ready to fight for the fourth consecutive Scudetto," M. Allegri stated. "32 days before the World Cup, he underwent knee surgery, which will require him to work according to a special program for several days. Vidal is a fundamental part of Juventus, not only because of his talent on the field but also because he wants to stay."

Allegri's unofficial debut as a strategist for Juventus was marked by a 2-3 loss to the amateur team "Lucento." Despite the presence of several substitutes and players who did not participate in the World Cup, the first capitulation of M. Allegri resonated loudly in the Italian press.

"The loss to Lucento ended up on the front pages of the newspapers, but tomorrow, the perspective will be different. We only started training a week ago and have not yet reached optimal physical fitness. The whole team will travel to Cesena with the World Cup players," the coach stated.

After clarifying the schedule for the 2014-2015 Serie A season on Monday, the team led by M. Allegri will face AC Milan in the third round, a team Allegri coached for almost four seasons.

"A huge intrigue awaits us, as both teams aim to win the Italian championship. It will be a tough season, so victory will be important for both me and the team. After spending three and a half years in Milan, I return to the San Siro as a competitor. Last season was fatal for the club, but this year they will be competing for the title along with Inter," the coach noted.

Yesterday, after the holidays, national team players returned to the team. Among them was Andrea Pirlo, who decided to leave AC Milan in 2011 due to disagreements with the club's management, under Allegri's leadership at the time.

"They seemed motivated to me. I haven't had time to get used to the environment yet, but I'm trying to put everything in place as quickly as possible. We only have one month for that. Pirlo? We have been talking to him for almost ten days. We are professionals," Allegri confirmed.
