The club announced that they have signed a contract with English national team defender Danny Mills. This morning he already participated in the club's training session.
Mills transferred to Manchester City after both clubs agreed that Leeds would terminate the player's contract with a year remaining and allow him to leave.
Last season Mills was loaned to a team and helped them win the Carling Cup - the club's first trophy in history, but when the loan agreement ended, Middlesbrough failed to reach an agreement with Leeds for the player's permanent transfer.
The player himself mentioned that he wanted to stay at Leeds, but the club, which was relegated to the second division of English football, could not offer him a worthy salary and he was forced to leave.
Danny Mills has played 27 matches for the English national team and participated in important tournaments such as the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea.
This is not the first player to leave the struggling Leeds club: Alan Smith, Dominic Matteo, Nick Barmby, Stephen McPhail, Paul Robinson, James Milner, Mark Viduka have already left the team. Soon Ian Harte will arrange his transfer to Levante.
