On Wednesday, the second leg of the Capital One Cup semi-final was played at the "Etihad" stadium.
Manchester City faced Liverpool's Everton in front of their fans. The "City" team conceded the first goal, but bounced back and with a total score of 4-3, made it to the tournament final.
In the first match, the "Toffees" celebrated victory with a score of 1-2, so they entered the field with an advantage. The beginning of the match was active from the very first minute and both teams played fast-paced football.
Already in the 18th minute, Everton sent the hosts into an unfavorable situation - Ross Barkley led the visitors forward and gave Manchester's team a hard time.
However, despite the advantage they gained, Roberto Martinez's protégés did not celebrate for long, and in the 24th minute, Fernandinho's accurate shot leveled the score.
In the second half, there were no shortage of dangerous opportunities, but the hosts proved their superiority. In the 70th minute, Kevin de Bruyne, who came on as a substitute, led the hosts forward, although Raheem Sterling passed the ball to him from an offside position, the referee did not see it, and the score became 2-1.
City needed at least one more goal if they wanted to reach the final without extra time or penalty shootout. Just a few minutes later, Sergio Aguero scored a great header and led the English vice-champions to the final.
The final of the Capital One Cup between "Man City" and "Liverpool" clubs will take place at the "Wembley" stadium on February 28th.
