Seven matches of the 4th round were played in the English Premier League on Saturday.
The first match took place at St. James Park stadium, where Newcastle faced Arsenal from London. In a tough match, Arsenal proved their advantage against ten Newcastle players.
The game started with aggressive play from Newcastle. In the 16th minute, Aleksandras Mitrovičius was shown a red card for a tackle on the opponent. Newcastle players received three more yellow cards in the first half.
However, despite being a man down, Newcastle didn't give up and fought against Arsène Wenger's army. Unfortunately, their successful play ended in the 52nd minute when Fabricio Coloccini redirected the ball into his own net after a shot from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Until the final minute of the match, Newcastle refused to surrender and fought for every inch, but the final score remained 0-1 in favor of Arsenal, who celebrated their second win of the season.
Defending champions Chelsea failed to defeat Crystal Palace at home. José Mourinho's team lost 1-2 to the visitors.
Another tragic result was reached by Liverpool, who were defeated 0-3 by West Ham at home. Two players from both teams received a red card, but it didn't stop the Hammers from claiming an easy win.
Demonstrating excellent form, Manchester City easily defeated Watford 2-0 at home, with Lithuanian goalkeeper Giedrius Arlauskis on the bench.
Man City leads the standings with 12 points, while Chelsea sits in 13th place, trailing just 2 points from the bottom.
