"Manchester City" shining Raheem Sterling has started negotiations with the club for a new contract.
"Sky Sports" reports that the 24-year-old English representative met with club officials on Monday and made progress in the negotiations.
R. Sterling extended his contract with his current team just a year ago, and his salary currently stands at around 275,000 pounds sterling per week.
However, in order to deter potential buyers, "Man City" club is willing to increase the striker's salary to 350,000 pounds sterling per week.
Recently, reports have emerged in the foreign media that R. Sterling's future will depend on whether Pep Guardiola remains at the club. However, according to "Sky Sports" sources, these reports do not reflect reality.
R. Sterling has already scored 14 goals in 18 matches this season.
