The winners scored two goals - one in each half - by Argentine Carlos Tevez, whose future next season cannot be certain for the Manchester team's fans. In the 53rd minute, defender Joleon Lescott scored the second goal for the team.
With one round left until the end of the championship, Manchester City surpassed Arsenal from London and found themselves in third position, which guarantees a direct ticket to the Champions League group stage. Meanwhile, the club in fourth place will still have to cross the qualification barrier.
