On Wednesday, the "Manchester City" club set a new UEFA Champions League record.

The "Citizens" crushed Prague's "Sparta" 5-0 at home on Wednesday, marking the club's 26th consecutive unbeaten match in the Champions League.

This streak is the longest in the tournament's history. The previous longest streak was held by another Manchester club, "Manchester United," which achieved it between 2007 and 2009.

The last time "Man City" experienced a defeat was in the semifinals of the 2021-2022 season when they lost to Madrid's "Real" club.

However, "the Citizens" also fell to "Real" in the quarterfinals last season, but that happened only after a penalty shootout, with both matches finishing in a draw after regular time. According to the applicable practice, the regular time is counted in such match series.
