In the strongest European club tournament, the only English team left is "Leicester City". Before the season, probably few fans would have predicted that it would be them.
The latest victim was "Man City" team, forced to withdraw from the Champions League by "Monaco".
After winning at home 3:1 (aggregate score 6:6) against representatives of the "Ligue 1", coach Leonardo Jardim said:
"I often dreamt of such matches. I think we enjoy playing against English teams.
We have already eliminated the second club from the tournament (the first being "Tottenham" - ed. note) and this shows the strength of French football," the strategist stated.
"In the first half of the match, we played excellently, while the 'City' team didn't show anything.
We are all happy - we performed well and deserved to advance to the next stage."
