On Wednesday, the first leg of the second semi-final of the English League Cup was played.
At the "Etihad" stadium, "Manchester City" faced "Burton" team from the third division of the country. The "City" players were not merciful to the modest opponent - they scored a total of nine goals.
Already in the first half, the score was 4-0. Kevin De Bruyne and Oleksandr Zinchenko scored, with two more goals coming from Gabriel Jesus.
In the second half, the "City" players did not slow down - G. Jesus added two more goals, making it a career milestone for him. Phil Foden and Kyle Walker also found the back of the net, with Riyad Mahrez closing the scoring in the 83rd minute.
The second leg, scheduled for January 23, leaves little hope for a comeback for the underdogs.
