"Manchester City" club won their first trophy of the season on Sunday evening.
After a fierce battle, Pep Guardiola's players defeated "Aston Villa" 2-1 and became the winners of the English League Cup for the third time in a row.
"Man City" settled all matters in the first half-hour. In the 20th minute, Sergio Aguero put the "citizens" ahead, and Rodri increased the lead after 10 minutes.
However, "Aston Villa" did not collapse after this blow - in the 41st minute, Mbwana Samata brought the team back into the fight for the title.
In the second half, both teams had opportunities. "Man City" failed to score a third goal, so the intrigue remained until the end of the match.
In the 88th minute, "Aston Villa" had a real chance to equalize, but Claudio Bravo saved the shot, and the ball even hit the crossbar from the Chilean's hands.
