"Man City" wastes a two-goal lead and plays a draw with "Tottenham" (VIDEO)

At 19:30 Lithuanian time, an intriguing 22nd round match took place in the English Premier League.

Manchester City faced Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham club in front of their fans. Pep Guardiola's players played actively throughout the game and were close to victory, but the Citizens wasted a two-goal lead and played out a draw.

Right from the start, the hosts played more aggressively with the ball. Tottenham was very passive and focused all their attention on City's attacks.

In the 10th minute, Pablo Zabaleta had a good chance, but his shot was not accurate. Just moments later, Sergio Aguero tried his luck with a strong shot, but the ball missed the goal.

In the 20th minute, P. Zabaleta again made the Tottenham fans sweat as his shot went just wide of the post. Kevin De Bruyne also had a chance to score during the remaining time of the first half, but Hugo Lloris demonstrated superb goalkeeping skills.

The second half started successfully for the hosts - in the 49th minute, Leroy Sane was left completely unmarked after an error by H. Lloris and put Manchester City ahead.

An active game in Tottenham's half led to the hosts extending their lead to two goals in the 54th minute. Taking advantage of another mistake by H. Lloris, K. De Bruyne increased City's advantage.

However, after scoring two goals, Manchester City lost concentration and in the 58th minute, Dele Alli brought intrigue back to the match with a header after a fine pass from Kyle Walker.

In the 74th minute, Raheem Sterling had a chance to seal the victory in this match, but his shot was saved by H. Lloris. Despite staying on his feet, Sterling's foul in the penalty area was clear, but the referee did not award a penalty kick.

After missing a chance to score a third goal, Manchester City had to cope with a tougher moment - in the 77th minute, Heung-Min Son equalized after a pass from Harry Kane.

In the remaining time, City tried to salvage a win. In the 82nd minute, Gabriel Jesus, who arrived from Brazil, made his debut in the Premier League and came close to securing the victory for Manchester City with a sharp pass, followed by a dangerous header, but eventually the ball went into the net from an offside position.

There were no significant chances in added time, and the teams had to settle for a draw, which should satisfy the visitors from North London.

Tottenham is in 2nd place with 46 points, while Manchester City is in 5th. However, after this round, Pochettino's team may drop to 3rd place.
