"Manchester United" coach Jose Mourinho revealed that Sergio Romero will continue to guard the team's goal in the UEFA Europa League final.
Although the Argentine is only the second choice for the "Red Devils" in his position, he has played in the last 10 tournament matches, keeping a clean sheet six times.
After the semi-finals, opinions poured in that David De Gea should return between the posts in the most important match of the season in Stockholm, but the English club's strategist dismisses this possibility.
"They are two fantastic goalkeepers. Throughout my career, I have never seen two goalkeepers who are such good friends," Mourinho said.
"There is always a little competition, especially if both are at the same level. We are talking about the goalkeeper of the Argentine national team and the goalkeeper of the Spanish national team."
"They always support each other. I have never seen angry looks, only them supporting each other. I think it is fair that Sergio will play in the final, and David accepts this, especially because he played two Europa League matches, so if we win, he will also fight for trophies."
"If everything goes smoothly and there are no problems, Sergio will play in the final."
The Europa League final in Stockholm, where "Manchester United" will face Amsterdam's "Ajax," will be played on May 24.
