On Tuesday evening, the last match of the 2015-16 season in the English Premier League was played.
At "Old Trafford" stadium, "Manchester United" clashed with "Bournemouth". Louis van Gaal's players faced no resistance and defeated their opponents with a score of 3-1.
This match, along with nine others, was supposed to take place on Sunday, but due to a fake bomb left in the stadium, the match was cancelled. Nevertheless, before this match, there was little intrigue left in England, as "Man Utd" no longer had a real chance to climb to fourth place.
In the 43rd minute, Wayne Rooney put the hosts ahead. In the second half, Marcus Rashford and Ashley Young added one more goal each. In added time, the opponents managed to score a consolation goal when Chris Smalling deflected the ball into his own net.
"Man Utd" finished the season in the Premier League with 66 points. The same number of points is held by "Man City", but Pep Guardiola's future players remained in the top four due to a significantly better goal difference. Next season, "Man Utd" will play in the UEFA Europa League.
