Former England international and long-time "Manchester United" defender Rio Ferdinand has announced the end of his career.
The 36-year-old footballer represented London's "Queens Park Rangers" club this season, but QPR dropped out of the Premier League and his one-year contract ended.
R. Ferdinand admitted that it was a tough decision, but one made at the right time. Additionally, not long ago, the footballer had to face another and the most serious challenge - his wife passed away after a tough battle with cancer.
The Englishman is best known as a "Man Utd" player. Ferdinand spent 12 years in Manchester, playing a total of 710 matches throughout his career.
The defender, who won 19 titles with the "Red Devils," represented the England national team for 14 years and played 81 matches.
