Another legend is retiring from the world of football - Ryan Giggs. The 40-year-old Welshman announced today that he is ending his football career.
Although he spent his entire career at Manchester United, the defender will not leave the club, but will now serve as an assistant to the head coach.
R. Giggs took over as manager of the "Red Devils" at the end of the season when David Moyes was dismissed, but he did not dare to become the main team manager in the following season.
"I am extremely proud to have stepped onto the field wearing the shirt of the greatest club in the world 963 times," said the club legend officially to the Man Utd website.
"My dream has always been to play for Manchester United. With sadness, but I have to announce that I am leaving the team as a player. New challenges await me at this club," Giggs added.
The former captain of the Welsh national team has been playing in Manchester since 1990. In total, he won 35 titles with Manchester United.
