Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed that the club rejected Real Madrid's offer for wanting to keep Dutch national team striker Ruud van Nistelrooy and also confirmed that he is trying to secure midfielder Michael Carrick.
"There is no agreement between Real and United clubs regarding Ruud. We did not accept their offer," said the coach.
Although it was claimed in the press that R. Van Nistelrooy had passed a medical check-up and was ready to sign a contract with Real, it is now believed that the Madrid club offered an insufficient amount - "Man Utd" would want to receive 15 million pounds for the 30-year-old striker.
Last week, the coach admitted that R.van Nistelrooy informed them of his desire to leave the club, and the player's agent said that he wanted to move to Real.
A.Ferguson also revealed that Tottenham rejected Man Utd's offer to sell Michael Carrick: "We are trying to acquire another midfielder. We made an offer for Michael Carrick, but Tottenham rejected it."
