"The club suggests extending the contract with 38-year-old veteran Ryan Giggs.
Having debuted in the team in 1991, the Welshman has played a total of 624 matches and scored 111 goals during this time. Since the age of 30, he has been extending his contract annually.
"Ryan cannot play forever, but surely at least one more season," said coach Sir Alex Ferguson.
Throughout his 21-year career, Giggs has become the English champion 12 times, won the Champions League twice, lifted the FA Cup four times, and won the League Cup three times. Although his longtime teammates Paul Scholes and Gary Neville have recently hung up their boots, the defender currently has no plans to retire.
"There are no signs that his energy, endurance, or speed is declining. In fact, these indicators are the same as two or three years ago. It's just unbelievable," added Ferguson.
However, Giggs himself, who follows a strict regimen and practices yoga, has not yet announced his final decision. This season, he played 15 matches in all competitions, started 8 of them, and scored three goals.
