"Man Utd" will achieve the British football record

BBC reports that "Manchester United" has agreed to pay £59.7 million for Argentine Angel di Maria from Madrid's "Real". This is the largest sum ever paid by a British football club for a player.

On Tuesday, the 26-year-old winger was supposed to undergo a medical examination in Manchester, after which the deal will be announced.

It is believed that the Argentine could make his debut in Saturday's match against "Burnley".

This deal surpasses the previous record for a British club purchase - in 2011, "Chelsea" paid £50 million for Fernando Torres.

The last time "Manchester United" broke the transfer record window was in 2002, when they paid £29.1 million for Rio Ferdinand.

Madrid's "Real" confirmed that Angel di Maria said goodbye to the club and his teammates.
