Today it was announced that they are terminating the contract with the goalkeeper from France, Fabien Barthez.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper joined "United" for over 7.8 million euros three and a half years ago. Currently, he is on loan to the club. He has been playing there since January 1st, when he lost his place in the main squad of the "United" club.
This decision of the club means that F. Barthez will be left without a club just two days after his 33rd birthday. From then on, he will be free to join any team.
In today's statement from the club, it is written that the club is terminating the contract with the goalkeeper, and that the contract will expire on June 30th. The player's contract was supposed to be valid until June 2006.
