„Manchester United“ has appealed to UEFA to delay the start of the Europa League match against „Liverpool“.
The return leg at „Old Trafford“ stadium is scheduled for 20:00, but „United“ would like it to take place at the later time of 22:05. Interestingly, the first leg at „Anfield“ stadium is also set to kick off at 22:05.
„United“ believes that early kick-off times are unfair to fans, so in order to provide better conditions for attending the match, they have asked UEFA to postpone these games. The match at „Anfield“ stadium on March 10 will start at 22:05, and „United“ is convinced that fans of both teams should have the same opportunity to witness this important clash.“, - stated in a „Manchester United“ announcement.
Normally, Europa League knockout games have one match in the pair starting at 20:00, and the other at 22:05. However, it is believed that UEFA is willing to consider „Manchester United“'s request and may decide to meet their wishes. This would be an additional step taken by UEFA to attract more television viewership.
