Manchester United is seriously considering the possibility of acquiring Bayern Munich's central defender Matthijs de Ligt. The German media reported that Bayern would be willing to let go of the player, but they would demand 42 million pounds sterling for the transfer.
The player is currently competing in the European Football Championship with the Netherlands national team. When asked about his future, M. de Ligt spoke somewhat evasively this week:
"I have already said that now is not the time to think about it. The whole focus is on the European championship. It is very important for me and the national team. Therefore, I cannot say what I think about this situation right now. I can only say that I have spent two years at Bayern club and I am happy. Now the focus is on the championship, and after that we will see what happens next."
