The club managed to raise massive amounts of money to buy a relentless team in the fight for young talent from Nigeria, John Obi Mikel. The Manchester team announced that they had agreed on a transfer fee with Oslo "Lyn" - the team that the young talent represented.
Already now J.O. Mikel is considered one of the brightest prospects in world football. This caught the attention of "Chelsea", with which the young Nigerian trained at the beginning of this year. Then his talent was praised by the charismatic club coach Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese also said that the footballer will join his team in the summer.
"John's talent caught our attention," said "Man Utd" employee Jim Ryan. "We think he is very, very talented. I first saw him play in February 2003, when the European and African national teams played against each other. Since then, I have seen many matches in which he competed."
J.O. Mikel, playing in the center defensive position, is also included in the list of candidates for the Nigerian youth team for this year's FIFA U-20 World Cup.
